Why keep a backup off your server
Most hosting backups live on the same server, or in the same data center, as the store they protect. A failed disk, a hacked account or a mistake can take both at once. Cloud Backup puts a separate copy somewhere else, and keeps it safe from anything that happens on the server.
A full copy of your account
Every copy is a full cPanel backup: your Magento files, media, database and account settings. Not just the database.
Stored away from your server
Copies go to Google Cloud Storage in the US, in a private storage bucket that belongs to your account alone.
Safe from the server itself
Your server can add new copies but can't delete old ones. Someone who breaks into the server can't wipe your backups.

Each upload is verified when it lands, and we test a full restore every quarter so you know the copies work.

How Cloud Backup works

Add it to your hosting
Choose a plan in the client portal, monthly or yearly.

We set up your storage
We create a private storage bucket for your account in Google Cloud and connect it to your hosting account.

Copies run on schedule
Daily, weekly or monthly, a full backup of your account is sent off-site and checked. Older copies roll off as new ones arrive.

We restore when you need it
Open a ticket, pick the copy, approve the restore, and we put it back into your hosting account.
Restores, in plain terms
- Your first approved restore in any 12 months is included.
- After that, a restore is $95, plus $0.15 per GB for backups over 50 GB.
- You choose which kept copy to restore, and we restore it into your hosting account.
- Every restore needs your written approval first, so nothing is overwritten by surprise.
- Urgent restores outside business hours are billed at our normal emergency rate.
Hosting backups and Cloud Backup
Your hosting already includes regular backups on our servers. They are the quickest way to undo a recent mistake.
Cloud Backup adds what local backups can't: longer history, and a copy in a different place that survives the loss of the server. Use both, and you're covered for small slips and big disasters.

What does a backup include?
A full cPanel backup of your hosting account: your Magento files and media, your databases and your account settings. It's everything we need to put the account back as it was.
Which hosting accounts can use Cloud Backup?
Any hosting account with Towering Media on our cPanel servers. If you host somewhere else, we can move your store to us first.
Where are my backups stored?
In Google Cloud Storage in the United States, in a private bucket used only for your account. Google encrypts stored data by default.
How much does a restore cost?
Your first approved restore in any 12 months is included. After that it's $95 per restore, plus $0.15 per GB for backups over 50 GB.
How do I know which size I need?
The size is one compressed backup of your account, which is usually much smaller than the disk space you use. We check it when we set things up, and tell you if a different size fits better.
Will backups slow my store down?
No. We send the backup your server already makes each night, at a quiet time, instead of making a new one while customers shop.
What happens if I cancel?
New copies stop at the end of your billing period. We don't delete the copies you already have until you ask us to.
