How It works

Configure Codes and Gift Card Products
Create a code pool in Magento Admin and add products using the dedicated Gift Card product type. Configure preset values, an open customer-entered amount with minimum and maximum limits, or a combination of both.

Sell and Deliver Virtual Gift Cards
The buyer selects an amount and enters the recipient’s name, email address, personal message, and sender name. Gift Card Pro assigns a unique code and emails it to the recipient, with an optional PDF attachment and sender confirmation.

Redeem and Manage the Balance
The recipient applies the gift card code in the cart or checkout. Gift Card Pro deducts the eligible amount as a discount total and preserves any unused balance for later. Registered customers can attach cards to My Account to view their cards and check balances.

How are unique gift card codes created?
Gift card codes are issued from code pools managed in Magento Admin. Gift Card Pro can automatically replenish configured pools through Magento cron.
Can guest customers redeem gift cards?
Yes. Both guest and registered customers can apply and remove gift card codes from the shopping cart or checkout.
Does the extension support partial redemption?
Yes. If an order uses only part of the available gift card balance, the unused amount remains on the same code and can be used on a future eligible purchase.
Can gift cards be used with Magento coupon codes?
Yes. Gift Card Pro allows customers to use a gift card together with a standard Magento coupon code.
Can a gift card pay for shipping charges?
This is configurable. Gift card payment for shipping charges is disabled by default and can be enabled by the store administrator.
Can a gift card pay for tax?
This is configurable. Gift card payment for tax charges is disabled by default and can be enabled by the store administrator.
Can a gift card be used to purchase another gift card?
Gift Card Pro prevents customers from redeeming a gift card against another gift card product by default.
Can customers attach gift cards to their accounts?
Yes. Registered customers can attach an existing gift card code to My Account, view their attached cards, and check the available balance.
Can customers transfer gift cards to another customer?
No. Customer-to-customer gift card transfers are not included in Gift Card Pro 1.0.0.
