Magento Caching Layers Explained: FPC, Redis, and CDN
What caching does Magento use?
Production Magento typically uses full-page cache (often Varnish), Redis for application cache/sessions, and a CDN for static assets.
Magento performance depends on layered caching. Full-page cache serves whole HTML responses; Redis accelerates backend cache and sessions; a CDN caches static assets (and sometimes HTML) near shoppers.
Misconfigured TTL, uncacheable blocks, or customer-specific holes can silently defeat FPC. Review hole-punching and private content carefully after installing marketing or personalization modules.
