The Towering Media Subscription Engine for Magento 2 is subscription billing for software and digital products — recurring plans, automated renewals, and entitlement control inside Magento. It is built for Composer packages, downloadable extensions, and other digital catalog items where access follows subscription status. It is not a physical autoship, subscription-box, or replenishment engine.
The module integrates with Magento’s order and customer flows: mark products as subscription-enabled, attach a billing plan, and create a subscription when the order is placed. Magento cron drives renewals, dunning retries, grace periods, and optional renewal emails. Customers manage subscriptions in My Account; admins work from plans, subscription, billing-attempt, audit, and reporting grids.

Go to Stores → Configuration → Toweringmedia → Subscriptions. There you can set renewal pricing, the product-page auto-renew checkbox, email notifications, and entitlement enforcement.
Does Magento cron need to be running?
Yes. Renewal, dunning, and notification jobs run on Magento cron. Without cron, due renewals and failed-payment retries will not process automatically.
Can shoppers choose auto-renew on the product page?
Yes. When enabled in configuration, an auto-renew checkbox appears on subscription products. Leaving it checked renews at period end; unchecking sets cancel-at-period-end.

What happens when I don’t renew?
Uncheck auto-renew at purchase, or cancel later. You keep access until the end of the paid period. After that, updates and support stop.
